“What is a Life Group?”

A Life Group is a small community of people who desire to “do life together,” like the 12 Disciples that were called by Jesus, by pursuing five purposes – fellowship, discipleship, ministry, outreach, and worship.Our Sunday morning gathering is a wonderful time for the congregation of RCF to gather together to worship God and to celebrate who He is, what He has done, and what He is doing in and through us as we preach the gospel. However, Sunday mornings are just the beginning for an individual or couples’ spiritual life at RCF; they serve as a springboard into deeper fellowship and community for people to “do life together” in a Life Group as they grow in their relationship with Christ and with others!

In a Life Group, the vision of “doing life together” is accomplished as members are purposefully guided into growing healthy relationships, living a lifestyle of worship, sharing the love of Christ through outreach, ministering to one another through prayer and other means as the hands and feet of Christ, and studying the Word of God and developing a biblical worldview.

Life Groups are facilitated by trained and equipped leaders. If you are interested in joining a Life Group, or are interested in becoming a Life Group leader, please contact Pastor Rick, rick@rcfellowship.org or by calling the church office at (530) 222-3425.

Begin the Journey is a class that meets about ten times each year and is designed primarily for those who are new to our church. We talk very candidly about many aspects of church life to give those who are considering making Redding Christian Fellowship their church home, a good knowledge of what our church believes and practices. In this class, you will hear about our church, our “CODE” or “DNA”, as well as our vision and mission. It is the perfect place for questions to be asked about our church.  While this class is a prerequisite for official membership, and while we would encourage all to seek membership, being in the class does not make membership mandatory.

Another purpose of this class is to make it possible for newcomers to establish some friendships within the church. Our class will assure you that after its completion there will be at least some people whom you have come to know personally.

The Begin the Journey class will also assist you in becoming more involved in the church.  We help you discover what your spiritual gifts might be.   Then we will show you ways in which those gifts can be utilized in some of the many ministry opportunities to serve our Lord, you will find at Redding Christian Fellowship.  You will be encouraged to be a part of what we call a Life Group.  This is a small group gathering that exists for fellowship, and to provide care for one another, study the Scriptures, serve our Lord and “do life together”.

Often, those who have been attending Redding Christian Fellowship for some time, choose to join one of our Begin the Journey classes.  If that describes you, you are also most welcome.  We are glad to have you.
